One architect came to the innovative ideas that could solve problem
of raising the level of sea, and solution is, according to his idea, the
floating city. Floating city, which its maker called Lilipad, should be
the home for about 50,000 so-called climate refugees from the worst
affected areas, including in London
The last research showed that the sea level could rise up to 88 cm
by 2100. year, bringing in danger many archipelago on Pacific Ocean.
This dramatic jump of nearly one meter will threaten and large
lowland coastal areas, as well as big cities who are in them,
such as London, New York and Tokyo.
However, this visionary architect solution is found for people from
threatened areas in the form of Floating futuristic city Lilipad.
Lilipad was designed by renowned architect Belgian Vincent Callebaut,
who says that is his city offers long-term solution to a big problem
of raising sea levels.
The city will be equipped with three marine, while it will be built
and mountainous areas to residents able to change the environment.
Energy will get from renewable sources, such as sun, wind and water.
The city will actually produce more energy than you can spend and will
be completely environmentally acceptable, and all the coal-dioxide and
waste will be recycled. “Whole city will be covered with plants in the
gardens suspension, without the traffic and cars. The aim is to establish
co-existence between humans and nature,” stresses the author of
this project. “I think that the problem of accommodation million people who
will become homeless because of climate change to become one of the
biggest challenges 21. century.”
